Illinois Safety Donates Life-Saving Devices to Cross Lutheran School

Yorkville, IL — Illinois Safety, a leader in CPR and first aid training, has generously donated two LifeVac Kits, portable suction rescue devices, to Cross Lutheran School in Yorkville. These devices are designed to save lives in choking emergencies by clearing airways when traditional methods, such as the Heimlich maneuver, are not effective.

LifeVac is designed with a patented valve that prevents air from exiting through the mask, ensuring that no air pushes the food or object downward. This one-way suction system effectively removes lodged items and is easy to use, even for non-medical personnel. With over 5,000 deaths annually in the U.S. from choking, especially among children, LifeVac offers a crucial tool for emergency response.

Joe Witz, co-owner of Illinois Safety and an experienced firefighter and paramedic, personally made the donation. “Our mission is to provide safety and emergency training, but it’s also about making sure our communities have the tools they need to save lives,” said Witz. “We’re proud to support Cross Lutheran School with these LifeVac Kits.”
