Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (Acls) Classes

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Classes

Looking for ACLS certification in Chicago? Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is an advanced, American-Heart-Association-certified, instructor-led classroom course that highlights the importance of team dynamics and communication, systems of care and immediate post-cardiac-arrest care. The ACLS renewal course is approximately four to five hours long and the initial course is approximately six to seven hours long.

Things to Consider When Choosing an ACLS Course
When looking for an AHA ACLS certification or ACLS recertification class it’s important to choose carefully. There are many ACLS courses offered online. However, most employers and schools will only accept ACLS classes that have been certified by the American Heart Association (AHA).

Pay very close attention to the language in the certifications of online programs. “Approved by AHA-certified doctors” or “recommended by AHA-approved physicians” is confusing language that tries to get around the point that the American Heart Association has not actually certified the class. Make sure that you only take classes and submit exams that are certified by the AHA itself.

Do You Need BLS Provider?

You can also get your BLS for Healthcare Providers Certification the same day. When signing up for ACLS, you will be asked whether you’d like to add “BLS Provider Same Day” for $70. If you add same-day BLS Provider, you will:

  1. Receive a confirmation email from Illinois Safety about the class. It will provide a link for you to sign up for the online American Heart Association BLS class.
